Lots going on for Freedom Road Records in the month of August. There's good news, bad news and in-between news. In good news Steve Lamacq played 'Who Smells Marshmallows?' on his Radio 1 show recently, it was also played on BSR 88.1 in Providence, Rhode Island and by Johnny Trauma! on WKNC in North Carolina. And don't forget that all three new releases as mentioned in previous news are released on Monday. In bad news we are sad to announce that Harlette have split up. There will be one last show at The Wheatsheaf on 8th September and then that is it. No more. Their EP has now been reduced to £2.50 including postage, go to the Catalogue page to buy one of the last remaining copies as they will not be repressed. Great sets from three of our acts at Truck Festival last weekend. Harlette kept going despite the guitar packing up on the last song, undertheigloo followed them with an acoustic set for the first time ever and nervous_testpilot's set on Saturday evening came complete with stage divers. There's been three new signings this month. The Evenings and Ash Verjee from Oxford and Sweden's Lucky Lucky Pigeons. Keeping up the hat trick theme they will all have new releases out on 28th August. The Evenings have had their Let's Go album remixed by all and sundry, Ash Verjee unleashes his debut album 'I'm Sorry, I'm Lost' and Lucky Lucky Pigeons give us their debut EP 'Happy Birds Day'. The Harlette EP looks set for a release next month, the artwork is just being finalised and then it's all systems go. Pre-orders can be made now through the catalogue page and CDs will be shipped as soon as they come in. Rounding up what else has happened recently, nervous_testpilot, Harlette and the Evenings all featured in the Nightshift end of year writers poll top 20. Plenty of airplay recently with nervous_testpilot tracks appearing on BBC Oxford's Download and the Rachael Neiman Experience on Bailrigg FM, undertheigloo appearing on BBC Oxford's Download and Cielo Líquido in Spain and the Evenings on Steve Lamacq's Radio One show. There's a new nervous_testpilot track on the audio page that features on the Determinance computer game, but not on the EP. Finally there's new pages, namely Gigs and Links.

The release date of undertheigloo's debut album 'Circlesend' is now set for 28th November. Pre-orders can be made now through the catalogue page and CDs will be shipped as soon as they come in. The tracklisting is also on the catalogue page and sample music is at the undertheigloo website.

We're nearing the release of undertheigloo's debut album 'Circlesend'. It'll be out in November, keep checking back for more details. Also coming soon are the Evenings 'Let's Go:Remixed' album in January and an EP from Harlette.

We've been off taking photos of new Freedom Road Records act undertheigloo today. Their debut album will be out in November. In other news there are new reviews of Wallpaper Silhouettes and nervous_testpilot on the Press page. Wallpaper Silhouettes album is available for £5 until the end of September.

nervous_testpilot lands on Freedom Road Records. Read all about him on the Bands page. We'll be releasing his "Determinance" EP on the 23rd of July and you can pre-order the EP now on the catalogue page. The EP features five tracks written for the forthcoming computer game Determinance, a collaboration with Oli from Trademark under the name the Tranceformers and an enhanced section of footage from the game.

Compute will be visiting the UK at the end of March/early April to promote the "Dance With Me" EP. They will be playing the "Wired Women" night at the Spitz, Old Spitalfields Market in London on the 31st of March. Tickets are available from the usual outlets.

Freedom Road Records was established in September 2004 to release a compilation of Oxford acts entitled 'a catholic education'. As 2005 begins the label is expanding into releasing CDs by acts such as Compute, The Lights, and el perro del mar.
